Welcome to our home! I’m linking with Andrea at the Momfessionals blog today for her Show and Tell Tuesday: House Tour link party. Let’s start in the kitchen since it’s the heart of our home.

I’ll try to leave sources under each room’s photos because I always get emails asking about different things and I always find it helpful when other bloggers include sources.

Our kitchen island is one of my favorite spots in our home. It’s the perfect cooking prep space and tends to be the gathering spot when there’s a group.

To the right of the kitchen is a small vestibule that leads to our garage (to the right) and our laundry room (straight ahead). Our laundry room also has a wall for our pantry and a wall for our mud room bench/shoes. I’ll do a room tour sometime in the future after I get it a little more organized.

We keep our microwave and toaster hidden behind the cabinet doors on the left. We keep our most used plates, bowls, and glasses in the glass front upper cabinets. Graham and Arden store their sippy cups and plastic plates in the bottom cabinets next to the refrigerator. In case you’re ever visiting and need to find a sippy cup?

timeless_paper_house_tour8

Our kitchen overlooks our dining room table and our living room. When we designed our home, we opted to skip a formal dining room since we’re not formal entertainers and wanted a more casual and open space. The arches on the left are what our architect called “the gallery.” It leads to our stairway.

timeless_paper_house_tour9

I’m so happy we chose to fill this wall with lower cabinets for storing all of my serving pieces. The counter top gives us a lot of useful serving space when we have parties.

The vestibule to the left of the kitchen leads to my office and a powder room. I design and blog in this office.

Our living room is still a work in progress. We are on the hunt for new living room furniture and a rug. These two wicker chairs will move to the back porch once we find replacements. Our plan is to add rustic wooden beams to the ceiling at some point too.

Let’s go downstairs!

vintage_peacocks2

We have a super tall stairway but our stairs go down. The design doesn’t make sense to me and I would redesign this aspect of our home if I had to rebuild. It makes for a great spot to hang my vintage peacock collection though! I’ve been finding these peacocks in antique shops for about 11 years.

timeless_paper_house_tour16

At the bottom of the stairway we have a toy closet and Michael’s office where we do most of our Timeless Paper work. (Sorry that’s not on the tour today.) Down a hallway we come to the playroom! I am so thankful for this space so we don’t have colorful toys all over the rest of the house. This gives the toys a home. The boys bring a few toys upstairs but I’m so glad they eventually make their way back to the playroom or toy closet.

The lower level of our home also has a large unfinished area for future expansion but for now we use it for holiday storage and Mike’s workshop/tractor parking.

timeless_paper_house_tour17

The boys have a lego table in the corner (thanks, Abby!), a red rocking moose (that I really want to paint a neutral color), a coffee table that serves as a dinosaur train table, and a wall to display their artwork. I have rare spurts of using the elliptical machine.
